Legacy SOA - Bringing SOA Into the Real World
Many organizations are currently creating strategies to implement some form of services based architecture. Unfortunately, many times these strategies only address newer systems using modern technologies, ignoring older, legacy systems. Unfortunately, it is these very systems that often provide the true business processing that makes a services oriented architecture (SOA) so valuable. This session presents attendees with a roadmap for implementing a comprehensive services-based environment, one that includes all aspects of an organization's technology portfolio. This approach focuses on the planning and execution phases of SOA implementation, outlining a set of steps and questions that need to be addressed in order to create a SOA strategy tailored to an individual organization. A variety of topics are covered, including integration, data and the timing of changes, as well as often neglected topics such as organizational change and governance.
