Presentation
Approach to Objectively Measuring EA Maturity of an Organization
This session, presented by designer and leader of the first ARC-compliant EA Maturity Appraisal, takes the audience through considerations involved in making Enterprise Architecture Maturity appraisals objective and providing appraisal results that can lead to staged improvement in the organisation appraised.

The session begins with definition and characterisation of EA, against which an enterprise can be evaluated. It then progresses through concepts of Maturity, Maturity Level, Process Area, Practice and Practice Implementation Indicator, leading to objective evidence-based approach to appraisal design, as stipulated in the ARC (Appraisal Requirements for CMMI) framework. The presentation covers key considerations in selection of appraisal team, appraisal design, appraisal execution and presentation of results.

The presentation demystifies concepts of Capability and Maturity Levels and deliberates on effective appraisal conclusion where the results are not an end in themselves but serve as stepping stone for staged improvement over time.
