Presentation
Service Oriented Infrastructure for Enterprise Architecture Service Oriented Infrastructure (SOI) can be considered as Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) being applied to IT Infrastructure. The role of IT is changing. It’s not only associated with technologies and operational support as used to be, but also involved more into business decisions. Also, IT infrastructure is not only associated with hardware, software, and network components, it is becoming more integrated into business operation strategies, and being operated as a business as well. The Federal Enterprise Architecture is one response to such changes, and it assists and enhances this trend; while SOA and SOI assist and facilitate the end-to-end practice of EA. This presentation will discuss current trend in SOA and EA with the progress in Federal Enterprise Architecture with IT Infrastructure as a new Line of Business. A SOI framework is proposed that covers the components in business service planning and modeling, service system architecture and implementation, service components and business function management, contractual management, service stakeholder management, etc.
