Batch Processing Best Practices in Transformation Scenarios
When we think of SOA, we generally tend to think of an on-line transaction processing. However, most of the enterprise environments use batch systems. Almost every legacy modernization scenarios that I work with ask the question, "when I transform to SOA, what about the batch applications and systems?" This is a question that is taking more importance with use of heterogeneous platforms, 24x7 processing, globalization trends preventing clear batch windows. In this session, we will talk about the importance of batch in the enterprise as we transform to a modern environment and some of the best practices that I have used.
