Presentation
A SOA Controlled Vocabulary Case Study For organizations with a large number of legacy back-office applications, migration to a Service Oriented Architecture is very difficult. A key enabler for that migration is an enterprise-wide controlled vocabulary. During 2007, Lockheed Martin launched a two-phased program to define the requirements, conduct a proof-of-concept, and then implement a controlled vocabulary based on The Open Group UDEF standard. This presentation provides a summary of the project and some example use cases for a centrally controlled vocabulary based on a global standard.
