Sue Miller-SylviaSue Miller-Sylvia is a Distinguished Engineer and Service Area Leader for Enterprise Architecture and Technology in Global Business Services (GBS), IBM. In this role she is responsible for 130 top architects and Distinguished Engineers in GBS who concentrate on SOA, Enterprise Architecture, Application Architecture, Data Architecture and Integration Architecture. The architects in this group are staffed on the large complex systems integration projects, as well as thought leadership activities for emerging technologies.

Sue is an IBM Certified Architect, member of the IBM Americas IT Architect Certification Review Board and an Open Group Master Certified IT Architect. She is a member of IBM’s Academy of Technology, which focuses on the technical underpinnings of IBM’s future. Its membership consists of the top technical leaders from around the world who are working in research, hardware and software development, manufacturing, applications, and services.

Sue has over 18 years of experience in the IT Industry in a variety of roles such as a Developer, Architect, Project Manager, Practice Leader and most recently, Distinguished Engineer. She started her career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and also worked for a small start up company, before hiring into IBM in 1994. She has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo and a MBA from UC Davis.
