SOA Reference Architecture: Core Concepts
The concept of an SOA reference architecture has been appearing with increasing frequency in the industry and is becoming widely viewed as a key approach for guiding the architecture design, procurement activities and portfolio management efforts of SOA solutions. An SOA reference architecture provides a proven framework from which standard solutions can be constructed. It promotes reuse and encourages the adoption of recommended practices. It captures the architectural style to be used by conforming applications, the architectural blocks existing in common infrastructures and the relationship between them; patterns of usage and compliant guidelines are also commonly defined.

This session will present the core concepts supporting the work of The Open Group SOA Reference Architecture project, including discussions on its current models, their relation to other work areas and next steps.
