Steve BrattChief Operating Officer, World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)Steve Bratt is the Chief Operating Officer for the World Wide Web Consortium. He has primary responsibility for worldwide operations, including overall management of the W3C Process, Team, strategic plans, budget, legal matters and major events. Just prior to joining the W3C in January 2002, Steve served as the Coordinator of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty International Data Centre in Vienna, Austria. In previous positions, he served as program manager at Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, and as scientist and manager with Science Applications International Corporation. He has directed the application of Web technologies to support the sharing of data, information and knowledge within all of his systems research and development work. Steve received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1985, and his B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University in 1979.
