Michael LiebowMichael Liebow is the global lead for SOA and Web Services within IBM Global Services. Mr. Liebow is a member of IBM Global Services Senior IBMLeadership Team and has a broad background which makes him well suited to fuse the power of technology and business. He has held a variety of sales, marketing and management positions within a diverse range of industries, including the high-technology sector, consumer package goods, media and entertainment.

In 1997, Michael created the predecessor to IBM’s e-Server X Series, and articulated a long-term technical vision through the creation of the X-architecture; a technical blueprint for bringing mainframe attributes to the Intel server market which IBM continues to follow today.

Michael took a brief hiatus from IBM at the beginning of 2000 to start an Internet venture. Michael partnered with a top engineer from EMC, raised $9 million in seed funds, and started an Infrastructure company that targeted media and entertainment companies. He completed agreements with companies like the National Football League, Arista Records, U.K. Premiership, David Bowie and others.

Prior to joining IBM, Michael gained industry experience at diverse range of companies including Cadbury-Schweppes/Dr. Pepper, Loews Corp. and Ogilvy & Mather. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
