Rusty Foreman, E&P Service Oriented Architecture, Program Manager, BP
Rusty ForemanRusty has worked in the oil & gas industry for more than 25 years. The early years were all about engineering operations and R&D but gradually the focus shifted to application of computing technology for the benefit of engineers and scientists exploring, drilling or producing hydrocarbons. Current work is to define SOA for the upstream part of the business and then instigate and facilitate the transition away from current architectures.

Presentation
SOA in BP Exploration & Production
No common definition or blueprint for SOA exists. Therefore each company must determine for itself how SOA could provide value, what implementation would look like, and the roadmap by which they would follow. This discussion will focus on how the exploration and production business is addressing these questions.
