DnB NOR is Norway’s largest financial services group. The Group consists of strong brands such as DnB NOR, Vital, Nordlandsbanken, Cresco, Postbanken, DnB NORD and Carlson and have operations within Retail and Corporate banking, asset management, insurance, investment banking and markets. The group is represented in 13 countries, and is one of the world’s leading shipping banks.
Several rounds of mergers and acquisitions have led to a large and complex architecture. The Enterprise Architecture team governs and strategically changes this architecture, incorporating changes like new customer demands, new business requirements and new technology.
One piece of the DnB NOR strategy in accomplishing this goal, is to use TOGAF 9 as the EA framework and IBM Rational System Architect as the EA tool. The presentation will describe our experiences and challenges in adopting and customizing this framework and tool, backed by concrete examples.
