Business Architecture – Critical Success Factors

This presentation will clarify why a Business Architecture is a critical part of your EA initiative. A number of basic principles will be discussed, where some are obvious and others may be controversial.

That a Business Architecture must be business driven is obvious, but still very difficult to achieve. Traceability is very seldom addressed, but still very important. If you make a strategic plan and you can’t see if the solution is based on the architecture plan it has no value. You need both an Overall Business Information Model and an Overall Business Process Architecture to achieve such traceability.

Our Business Architecture Plans are developed during a knowledge journey together with a group of business experts.

This presentation is based on 25+ years of experience from 125+ delivered Business Architecture Plans in Scandinavia.

Intended audience
All EA Architects and everyone interested in achieving a truly business driven Architecture Plan focusing on HOW it is developed.

Takeaways

  1. How to “kill complexity” in your architecture and make it stable.
  2. The critical role of the Overall Business Information Model.
  3. Always relate to your business vision when finding your true driving forces
