The Business Value of Information - Information Architecture Case Study Telecommunication

Information need from today's business requirements require a holistic architecture approach to ensure decision making according to common strategy on all layers. Enterprise Information Architecture as part of the Enterprise Business Architecture provides the right information to the business across internal and external boundaries. Using a overarching Information Architecture and Data infrastructure along the Information Supply Chain all necessary information can be integrated and provided along the value chain.By doing so, e.g. process efficiency, customer loyalty or time-to-market can be improved. Detecon helped the Deutsche Telekom to design and describe their Information Architecture and implement a governance process to support the operationalization of the models. TOGAF ADM has been used to develop the architecture and the tasks have been closely aligned with all other activities concerning Enterprise Architecture Management. Communicating and showing the business value of the exercise have been one of the major tasks in this project.
