Open Group Cloud Security Reference Architecture - Progress Update

In this jointly presented Cloud Security track, Omkhar Arasaratnam and Stuart Boardman, co-chairs of The Open Group's Cloud Computing Security work group, will share a series of joined-up presentations:

  • Overall review of security risks in the Cloud - Omkhar Arasaratnam (20mins)
  • Building Blocks - Omkhar Arasaratnam (20 mins)
  • SOA Reference Architecture mapping - Stuart Boardman (20 mins)
  • Principals/TOC - Stuart Boardman (20 mins)
  • Discussion (15mins)

This session will present the current view of security in Cloud Computing. It will be divided into two parts, the first focusing on the new security challenges we face with Cloud Computing, and the second covering the work carried out to date by the Cloud Security project of the Cloud Computing Working Group. We will explain the sources and principles underlying the work and the structure of the various deliverables. This work to date includes a set of principles and building blocks and a conceptual architectural model showing how the building blocks relate to each other and can interact to realize various use cases. We will also show how this work relates to the other Cloud Computing projects such as business use cases, reference architecture, and infrastructure. We want to encourage others to contribute to this work and so will also give some suggestions for areas where people can add new value and insights.
