We invite you to attend The Open Group Members Conference from 26th - 29th October 1998 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore. Our theme is Global Architectures for Enterprise Systems Integration.
Each quarter The Open Group members meet to work on the issues and opportunities that buyers face in protecting and enhancing their investments in IT infrastructure. From many of the world’s leading companies, our customer members, including Boeing, JP Morgan, NYSE, Shell Services International, NTT, The Dairy Farm Group, Hong Kong Jockey Club, and many others work with suppliers to define the requirements for commonly available products and to cause solutions to be delivered. On behalf of our members, we offer you this unique opportunity to be fully briefed on the direction and progress that is being made in the critical areas of Architecture, Distributed Computing, Management and Security.
An important differentiator of The Open Group is the ability to influence the delivery of solutions. A recent example comes from our Security Program. This covers all aspects of security and trust needed in today’s IT environment. In one area of their work, the program group identified a need for high quality cryptography to be delivered in a consistent manner regardless of vendor. As a result, Intel, with the encouragement of IBM and the full support of our other members, submitted their Common Data Security Architecture (CDSA) Specification to The Open Group’s standards process. CDSA successfully and rapidly passed. Addressing issues and solutions such as this example is just one aspect of this conference's fully packed agenda.
Networking is also a high priority. Our members are keen to ensure there is ample opportunity to meet with you to discuss areas of particular interest in more depth. Also in attendance will be the standards strategists from each of our supplier sponsor members: Digital, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, NCR, Siemens Nixdorf, and Sun Microsystems.
Although this week-long conference is normally reserved for members of The Open Group, we are pleased to offer the first three days, Monday, 26th through Thursday, 29th October (public sessions only), to non-members for the modest fee of $US600.00. Members of CommerceNet Singapore qualify for a special introductory discount of $US120.00
