Group Director, Forrester Research
Research Focus 
Ted is the group director and product manager for TechRankings™, Forrester's
technology evaluation research. Ted is also a key contributor to Forrester's
TechStrategy™ research, with an emphasis on the impact of XML Web services
on business.
Ted is in demand as an industry visionary for business and
technology topics. He has appeared as a technology software expert on
ABC and CNBC and has been quoted in journals including The Economist,
The Wall Street Journal, and Business Week.
Previous Work Experience
Ted's previous experience at Forrester includes three years as an analyst
and director of Forrester's Software Strategies research team, where he
led Forrester's inquiry into software infrastructure, middleware, XML,
and data analysis.
Prior to joining Forrester in April 1997, Ted was a cofounder
of Phios Corp., an MIT spinoff that is building the next generation of
business process design tools. Before that, Ted worked for eight years
as CTO and director of development for a software company serving the
healthcare industry. Early in his career, Ted was manager and front man
of a successful Maryland-based rock 'n' roll band.
Education
Ted has a master's degree in management from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
He also holds an M.S. in computer science from the University of Maryland
and a B.A. in physics from Swarthmore College.
