James King is senior vice president and CIO, Technology
and New Media, Information and
Media Services. This segment includes Business Week, Construction Information
Group, Platts, Aviation Week Group, Broadcasting, and Healthcare Information
Group.
Since joining the McGraw-Hill Companies in February 2001,
Jim has provided the overall technology leadership and strategic direction
to help capitalize on new opportunities in digital content and electronic
commerce. Most recently, he was director of Business Technology and Strategy
for Microsoft Corporation's Business Productivity Group. Earlier, Jim
was vice president of Strategy and Business Development for Reed Elsevier's
Nexis Division, and chief technology officer for Reed Elsevier's Technology
Group.
Jim holds a bachelor's degree in urban and regional planning
from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He also holds masters'
degrees in computer science and remote sensing/geography from Ball State
University and in conjunction with Purdue University.
