Trust and security in the Ambient
Intelligence space

Ambient Intelligence is the vision driving the European Commission
R&D Priority on Information Society Technologies (IST). This vision,
which places the user, the individual, at the centre of future developments
for an inclusive knowledge-based society for, will be featured by new
generation technologies in which computers and networks will be integrated
into the everyday environment, rendering accessible a multitude of services
and applications through easy-to-use human interfaces. The presentation
will highlight the technological and societal challenges for security
and dependability associated with such a vision and how the European Commission
is addressing them in the newly defined R&D programme on IST.
