The
Dependability through Assuredness sessions were well attended with over
20 different participants throughout the course of the three-day
program.
This
Monday session was an afternoon only session, conducted by Joe Bergmann,
Real-time & Embedded Systems Forum Director. Joe
highlighted the strategic and tactical objectives of the Forum, offered
a detailed look at some of the ongoing activities of the working groups,
and discussed the Forum’s plans for an upcoming meeting to be held
jointly with the Security Forum.
The
Presentation from Joe provided an informative overview of the Real-time & Embedded Systems
Forum, the Working Group activities, and its plans and objectives for
2010.
Joe
Bergmann also provided an overview of the upcoming Joint Real-time & Embedded Systems and
Security Forum meeting (November 16–18) in San Francisco, indicating
the engagement with both Forums at a working meeting on important areas
of discussion that are common to both, and which are covered in the
Outputs section of these proceedings.
Following
the Real-time & Embedded Systems Forum presentations and discussion, the important and
valuable Japanese perspective on Dependability through Assuredness was
provided by Junkyo (Jack) Fujieda.
The
Fujieda-san session was a discussion of the importance of Dependability
through Assuredness to activities of the Information Promotion Agency
(IPA) and large industrial giants like NTT and Toyota.
