A tutorial on using The Open Group infrastructure: "Plato
-- The Open
Group Web collaboration tool"
Led by Andrew Josey, The Open Group
Plato is an example of what is often called Groupware or Web Collaboration software. It has been designed so that a group of people, typically in a project or working group, can share items such as email, documents, actions and calendar events, in a controlled area of the web using a web browser. Although every Plato site uses a standard set of common facilities, a maintainer can tailor a site for the group's specific needs. This tutorial will provide an introduction to Plato for first time users, giving an overview of the features of the Plato Web Services Infrastructure and the benefits of using it. The will also introduce the key concept of Visibility Levels. The session will end with a question and answer session.
