Presentation
Using Quality Function Deployment and TOGAF ADM to Manage EA-based Business Transformation

In fast changing times it is important to make IT fit to follow quickly and even anticipate business changes in order to enable and contribute maximum value to the business. For this purpose methodologies are required that make IT transparent to continuously identify leverages that increase effectiveness and support transformation.

In its ADM TOGAF suggests a top down approach for deriving different architecture views from business requirements to ensure alignment of IT architecture to business strategy.

When industry recognized the need for more customer-oriented and less technology driven products methods like QFD (quality function deployment) were developed to consequently align not only products but the whole production to customer needs. Based on a practical case, the presentation shows how this method applied to ADM helps to translate business strategy sequentially step by step into the lowest architecture levels even down to service level requirements.

Thereby a logical translation chain is built that helps to immediately adapt IT to each business transformation most effectively.
