Semantic Interoperability for Boundaryless Information Flow

The mission of The Open Group is to drive the creation of Boundaryless Information Flow. SOA, which is becoming the enterprise architecture style of choice, enables enterprises to achieve Boundaryless Information Flow, but emphasises the need for Semantic Interoperability. The presentation will discuss this requirement, and suggest approaches that Enterprise Architects can take in order to meet it.

Discussion - Is SOI Part of SOA?

The term Service-Oriented Architecture is commonly used to refer to the application of the service-oriented principle at the application level. Also, many people advocate the application of this principle to Business Architecture. But service-orientation can also be applied  at the infrastructure level.

This discussion, moderated by Open Group Forum Director for SOA Chris Harding, will look at whether this is appropriate - and whether SOI should in fact be considered an integral part of SOA.
