Presentation
Externalisation - the next Principle for Information Sharing

Capgemini has been working with a number of public and private sector clients who wish to understand how to leverage SOA, Web 2.0 and Semantic Web concepts to solve tangible and immediate business problems.

This session is a series of observations and thought-provokers arising from this work. We stand back from the detail of the specific technologies and standards to examine underlying patterns and trends. Specifically, we look at the effect of 'Information Containers' on information important to business outcomes and make the case for 'Externalising' such concepts as Events, Content and Policies. We believe many organisations would benefit from starting their journey to Externalisation now, in an incremental fashion, by using readily available standards and Web-based technologies but with a view to future capabilities being developed by the Semantic Web technologists and communities.
