logoAfter having received a Master's degree in Business Information science, Bas joined Capgemini April 2005. He works as a consultant within the Finance sector, and took part in various projects, such as a large scale IT governance transformation, SoX compliancy test and recently started a business architecture engagement. In addition, he has been involved with the development of the Business & Information part of Capgemini's Integrated Architecture Framework (IAF), and with creating the course material for the Architecture Learning Program of the Capgemini University. Furthermore, he has developed an assessment model called Naomi, which aims at determining how effective an organisation is with its Enterprise Architecture program.

Presentation
Assessing a Global Financial Services Company on its Enterprise Architecture Effectiveness using NAOMI

Large organizations are increasingly recognizing the benefits of enterprise architecture, and heavily investing in it. However, many of those organizations struggle to be truly effective with architecture. In order to determine points of improvement, we have developed an approach for assessing an organization on its architecture effectiveness. Our approach differentiates from existing assessment models by considering multiple perspectives. It makes a distinction between the level of thinking about architecture, and the level of practicing it. It also gives insight in the (mis)alignment between IT and business oriented architecture functions.
