Bringing the Architectures Together: Driving Convergence in Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures

A merger, an acquisition or a divestiture imposes disruptive change on both the corporate culture as well as the day to day operations of the companies involved. In the process of realizing synergies, the partners have to reinvent their way of working.

In most cases, an important prerequisite of the synergy case is the pooling of information, for example to get access to the partner's customer base. Shared usage of resources is fostering synergies of scale.

Given the fundamental enabler role of information and information systems in today's enterprise’s operations, enterprise architecture is a key tool in driving and reaping these benefits.

This presentation takes the audience through the phases of a merger, explains the role of architecture, and shows approaches to making these architectures converge in post-merger integration. Case studies give insights in the complexities of real life.
