Presentation
Case Study:
Architectural Patterns in the Australian Federal Government
This case study shows a picture of the Australian Health Industry
and the role played by the Dept of Health & Ageing. It
shows the industry from a macro-economic view, a health outcomes
perspective and shows a list of current challenges faced by
this large Government Dept. The presentation then moves to
describe the key business issues, including increased demand
for services (partially driven by the ageing of the population,
by new technology and changing consumption patterns). The presentation
then describes the key architectural challenges, and how these
challenges are being addressed by leveraging the TOGAF framework
in combination with optimisation tools and Business Component
analysis.
