Presentation
Service Repository: the Foundation for SOA
This talk will primarily focus on how a metadata repository is a key enabling technology for SOA by providing a discovery mechanism that enables consumers to find the services that they need. As part of the metadata repository, this talks emphasizes the need to establish a taxonomy and demonstrate how a SOA repository should store and organize metadata about services and the information that they consume and produce. Once the metadata about services is captured in the repository, it can then be utilized at design time by architects defining services and their inter-relationships, and by developers programming those services and the information transforms between them. This session will also discuss how these services can be used at run time by intelligent services searching for information sources. Finally this session will wrap it by showing how the SOA repository improves programming productivity, increases re-use of software assets, and enables an intelligent architecture with dynamic connections between services.
