Saverio Rinaldi brings 30 years of information technology experience to his role as the Chief Architect of the EDS GMAC LLC Account. Saverio is also an EDS Distinguished SE (an elite group of 65 people within EDS) and a Master IT Architect certified by The Open Group. Saverio Rinaldi has a reputation of organizing teams and individuals to get the job done and affecting innovative change.

As the Chief Architect of the EDS GMAC LLC account, Saverio is responsible and accountable for the global technical direction of one of EDS's largest financial services accounts. Saverio leads 12 Senior Architects and 102 Project Technical Leaders and Architects. Saverio is also a member of the EDS GM Enterprise Technology Office. Saverio consistently delivers on his commitments, and is well respected by the GMAC client, EDS leadership, his peers and EDS employees. Some of Saverio’s notable accomplishments for GM and GMAC are:

• A trusted and valued partner of the Client's Chief Architect and his reports, working together to create Enterprise Architecture principles, governance, operating model and metamodel.
• Led a major Enterprise Architecture project to evaluate GMAC's legacy systems, creating a To Be Business and Technical Architecture and a multi-year transformation plan to transform GMAC’s legacy applications to a Service Oriented Architecture.
• Creator and Innovation Evangelist of the very successful EDS GM Innovation Program, resulting in savings for our client and increased revenue for EDS. The program has also been leveraged and implemented at other EDS accounts.
• Creator and active governance for the EDS GM Breakthrough Development Program, resulting in improved application delivery productivity, speed to market and quality.
• Principle Architect for some critical GMAC applications, which generate revenue for GMAC and operate GMAC's business.

In addition to his achievements, Saverio is currently involved in a number of EDS Corporate major initiatives (Financial Services Reuse Pilot, EDS Technology Policy Users Group) and EDS GM major initiatives (Sales Solutioning Improvements, Project Motivators).

Saverio is a recipient of a number of awards including the EDS GM 2004 Field Innovation Leader of the Year, and the GM IS&S CIO Award for the GM Brasil BuyPower web site in December of 2002, and the Celta BuyPower web site in December of 2000.

Prior to EDS, Saverio had a number of roles with several software development companies. He has been an engineering director, key architect, project manager on a number of software systems.

CASE STUDY: Architectural Governance in a Multi-Vendor Outsourcing Environment
A case study will be presented that describes how Architectural Governance can be institutionalized in a multi-vendor outsourcing model.  The case study will provide the responsibilities and activities of the company and the outsourcing partners.  We will explore items such as the Establishment and Governance of an Enterprise Architecture, Technology Policies and Standards, a common Lifecycle Methodology,  common Architectural Reviews, and the expectations of the Outsourcing Partners.
