Jatinder Prem (“Prem”) is a Principle Strategic
Consultant with LiquidHub Inc, an award wining boutique management
consulting firm. In addition to working for LiquidHub Inc.,
Prem has consulted for Fortune 500 companies in Great Britain
and North America including: Morgan Stanley, KPMG, Mobility
Finance, SMART Technologies, DuPont, Workers Compensation Board,
AAA, QVC, GMAC, and AIG.
Prem is a seasoned IT professional with over 15 years of
senior level IT experience which started in the early 90’s
in commercial product development and program management.
During the Internet Start-Up era, Prem was a lead architect
developing one of the first dynamically rendering web engines – “SMART
DNA”. Having served as an Enterprise Architect for
many years, in recent years, he leverages his wealth of technical
experience to provide counsel to “C” and “D”-level
management on how to realize their strategic visions leveraging
new technologies via creative socio-technical methodologies.
These executive-level engagements inherently led him to author
the “Laws of Engagement” approach to realigning
failing IT projects on a path to success.
Prem has spoken at multiple conferences including: Oracle
OpenWorld and BEA World, and he has authored and published
four IT books on Oracle and BEA technologies.
Prem holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems
(Honors) from Boston University with a concentration in Internet
Security, in addition to being educated at one of London’s
leading technology-focused universities, City of London University.
He also maintains professional certifications in the Java,
Oracle, Sybase and BEA technologies. |

Sustaining the Business Value of SOA
SOA has evolved from being just an architectural approach; it is a suite of multi-disciplined activities that must seamlessly interact in order to realize specific objectives. From a business perspective, the value a new paradigm shift in constructing and delivering systems can be quite skeptical. Even today, there are a broad range of SOA-based Projects that do not deliver their promise, while others do. This presentation explores the promise of SOA from a business perspective and the measures both the business and IT departments must take to ensure a sustained value proposition on the upfront investment.
