Information Architecture
Information Architecture doesn't have a place in current TOGAF (version 8) and yet a lot of authors talk about it. In TOGAF the concept of Data Architecture is described, but this concept only covers the systems related subset of what generally is understood as Information Architecture.
In IAF (Capgemini's architecture framework) Information Architecture is described as the part of the architecture that deals with what an enterprise or a project level entity needs to know in order to fulfill its mission. Most authors on the internet describe information architecture in terms of human interaction with a website.
Recent evolution in the analysis of interoperability between systeems has resulted in yet another set of characteristics.
In this presentation the case for an encompassing information architecture framework is made, and a proposal for an initial version, based on assembled work from different origins is discussed. The relation between various technologies for semantic interoperability will be positioned and the complexity of language in the context of information architecture will be addressed
