  James O'Neal - Consultant, Detecon, Inc.  

James joined Detecon, Inc. in May 2006 to work in the Strategy and Innovation Group. Through a combination of relevant work experience and education, James exhibits competencies in business administration, information systems, research, procurement, and logistics.

Since 2001, he has helped both commercial and US Government agencies in the management of information systems, as well as procurement systems integration. James has also held positions in inventory management and contract/procurement management.

At Detecon, he has helped telecommunications carriers in the implementation of new deteconproducts and services for network enrichment, testing, and product deployment. In addition, he has performed research on the telecommunications industry, with specific reference to innovation benchmarking, next-generation networks, and financial analysis.

James received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Master of Information Systems Management (MISM) degree from The Keller Graduate School of Management at DeVry University.

Applications of Enterprise Architecture Management in the Next Generation Network
Enterprise architecture management (EAM) has a direct impact on firms that both operate or plan to operate in the Next Generation Network (NGN).  This presentation describes both EAM and NGN individually; citing references and applications of these concepts in real-world business uses.  In addition, the simultaneous application of both concepts is explored, with emphasis placed on the advantages for operators, vendors, and non-technical firms.
