Case Study: Experiences with Enterprise Architecture implementation at Anglo Platinum
Enterprise Architecture is playing an ever increasing role assisting with the management and direction of companies. Mining companies such as Anglo Platinum have always had a very practical approach to managing their businesses but recently with the world wide increase in governance requirements they have perceived the need for tighter controls on processes and their supporting systems. This has led to Enterprise Architecture playing a major role in standardisation of business processes, leading to efficiencies and cost optimisation, and providing an exceptional platform to build better quality information to enable better decision-making

Anglo Platinum’s implementation approach has been to integrate it into the way of doing business and in particular to embed Enterprise Architecture into all new project developments. The result has been strong acceptance by the business including support directly by the CEO.

The presentation provides an overview of the approached used to introduce Enterprise Architecture to the company, including the toolsets, and will highlight some of the immediate benefits and spin-offs achieved to date.
