Using Enterprise Architecture to Achieve Stable IT / Business Alignment at SASOL

Enterprise Architects’ attempts to align IT resources with strategy are often foiled by the ever-changing business strategy. To overcome the problem, alignment with the business operating model, rather than strategy, can bring about the needed stability in the foundation of the architecture. Sasol has developed a one- page diagram explaining the Enterprise Architecture in simple, understandable terms. This diagram will form the basis to which architecture projects, roadmaps and resources will be committed. The diagram is based on the book "Enterprise Architecture as Strategy" by Jeanne W. Ross, Peter Weill and David C. Robertson.
