Presentation
Migrating legacy
heterogeneous infrastructure to a SOA based platform in a
complex DoD Netcentric Environment
In this session we first describe unique integration requirements and characteristics
of a large complex DoD System of Systems (SoS), identify and document inherent
integration risks followed by critical issues and unique integration challenges
posed by these SoS. That is followed by the architectural principles which
provide the required underpinnings for meeting these integration challenges.
We then describe the approach for solving these integration issues and the
levels of integration required with more in-depth focus on Infrastructure Integration.
In the second part of the session we describe how IBM’s IT infrastructure
optimization methodology and modeling tools were modified to develop an approach
for migrating DoD’s heterogeneous legacy infrastructure to a SOA platform.
