Presentation
The status quo of Enterprise Architecture implementation in South African companies
This paper presents the findings of a survey that was conducted amongst Enterprise Architecture (EA) practitioners in the South African financial sector. Due to the duration and cost implications of these EA projects, factors that contribute to the success and failure of EA initiatives need to be investigated and identified. The aim of this research is therefore to establish the status quo of EA implementation in South Africa. The research is largely based on a similar international study that was conducted by Schekkerman (www.enterprise-architecture.info). Different aspects of EA were investigated including the place of EA in organizational and strategic governance, the architects, practices and processes as well as the measurement of EA initiatives.
