Basil HealdBasil Heald is an Enterprise Architecture ICT Team leader for the Provincial Government Western Cape (PGWC)

Basil has post graduate training in hardware and software engineering and twenty-four years of IT experience in the public service. This has provided him with a hands on implementation approach to support the dynamics, culture and regulatory procedures in the public service.

Basil's commitment to performing music regularly provides a creative balance between family, cycling and technology

He started at the City of Cape Town where he played a significant role in the development of web infrastructure and the integration of transactional billing systems being extended to mobile units.

He joined PGWC in 1999 where his implementation skills and technical leadership has provided him with opportunities to review, advise and make recommendations to various business and ICT steering committees in PGWC and documents like "PGWC FOSS Strategy frame work"

His extensive experience in integrating Enterprise Architecture and technology feeds his passion to make a difference to reduce the frustration resulting from queus and duplication that the citizens experience when attempting to access public services
