Case study: EA at the South African Revenue Services
An investigation was launched in 2004 to evaluate the Architecture Readiness of SARS. The objective of this assessment was to provide a holistic view of SARS’s Enterprise Architecture and its readiness to support the key processes that characterize the SARS Core Business. The focus was on the enterprise integration efforts oriented to assist SARS in its 2010 initiatives. Inturn, it would provide an enterprise framework approach to align its business objectives with its IT requirements, priorities, capabilities and investments. The outcome of this evaluation resulted in the development of the SARS ICT – the Sunburst Model.
