Case Study: Use of TOGAF for Enterprise Architecture at ING-Ops&IT Banking

ING-Ops&IT has a long tradition in the architecture area and a variety of the “stand alone” architectural practices and artefacts. In 2006 an initiative was started to select a market standard to organize the best practices towards an enterprise architecture and disclose it to the organization. TOGAF was selected as a basis and TOGAF-ADM was used to position the existing processes.

Next, each of these processes was detailed in a top level diagram (Aris), a description and a RACI table.
Also a two-dimensional matrix (‘EA-Model Framework’) was used for a clear understanding of artefacts, models and their relationship.

Diag.2

Next an intranet site (EA-Portal) was launched in June 2007 to make all the models, products, processes, techniques, glossary, etc available.
These items are presented into clusters of ‘main themes’:

The EA-portal has been visited more than16000 times so far.

Some lessons learned and nest stapes will be addressed at the presentation
