Gundel's Restaurant - Budapest

Please join The Open Group and fellow delegates for an evening of authentic Hungarian cuisine and wine and enjoy a 5-piece gypsy band at Gundel's Restaurant on Tuesday evening, October 23.

The menu in the new Gundel is based on traditional Hungarian cuisine as once practiced byGundels Restaurant Károly Gundel and his staff.

"We prepare refined versions of Hungarian dishes, revive traditional fares once eaten at the tables of East European aristocracy and offer specialties of the worlds major culinary cultures. After years of experimentation and extensive testing, we have also developed light versions of Hungarian cuisine, reducing cholesterol and calorie content. Generally speaking, dishes served in the new Gundel are lighter and healthier than they had ever been in the restaurant's one-hundred-year history."

Fine restaurant - fine wines. When the new Gundel Restaurant opened in 1992, the owners had the idea that a great restaurant should have vineyards of its own. Consequently they bought vineyards and cellars in the Tokaj-Hegyalja Region at Mád and at Eger.
