Pieter started his career as product manager and later became software development manager for Digital Equipment Corporation. In 1998 he moved to the consulting organization as Solution Architect.

Currently Pieter is Enterprise Architect for HP Consulting in EMEA, and also lead of the architecture profession for HP in EMEA.

Is pursuing ITAC certification a natural development in the career of an architect, or is it something you have to specially prepare for? This talk explores different aspects of the certification experience from the perspectives of the candidate architect, the certification program manager, and peer reviewers and counselors. As an architect, how should you approach your self assessment, how should you prepare your submission, and how should you prepare for the interview? As a certification project manager, or peer reviewer or counselor, how can you provide useful help to the certification candidate, in particular help the candidate to understand the mindset of the certification process and philosophy behind the certification requirements.
