Simplify fault diagnosis, isolation, and recovery

• Move core services toward peer model

  • Master/slave model is hard to repair

• Improve automatic fault isolation

• Make the goal “fail working” rather than “fail safe”

• Must fit existing enterprise management frameworks

  • Many valid operational styles must be satisfied
  • Many installed operational systems

• Make interoperation with enterprise management the “hallmark” of a DCE component
