New for 1999, the PROBE project addresses two areas that will greatly enhance the ability of procurement managers to undertake improvements and get higher value from their IT purchases:

1. Benchmarking
2. Sharing experiences in addressing common procurement challenges

The PROBE project will:

• Create a repository of documented procurement experiences where organizations seeking answers to procurement problems can search and find examples of how other organizations have solved similar problems
• Compile a database of 100 PULSE assessments of European organizations to provide procurement benchmarking, allowing users to compare themselves with the average for a region, industry, etc.
