Meeting Report - COE Forum
Objective of Meeting
This was the first 'face to face' meeting of the Forum since its
formation in Q4 2002.
The COE Forum, is a working/review group established to define and
manage The Open Group's independent COE Platform Certification program,
to drive the work program for the COE Forum, and to set priorities for
the COE Forum.

COE Forum offer to write program docs for NCES
- The Forum wishes to broaden membership to include e.g. integrators
and application developers.
- Procurement is recognized as important, but not yet at the stage
where it should be on the priority list
- The HOSTS tests need considerable work, DL to lead an initiative
to identify problems and ensure they get into the Problem Report
system

Actions:
GBB to arrange speakers from DISA, and services for Boston
All prepare list of integrators and app developers to be contacted re
membership
GBB to review standard membership agreement and determine if it is
suitable for new members
DL to arrange a conference call to discuss problems with the HOSTS test
suite and improvements that can be made
Next Steps
Next face to face meeting will be Boston in July.
The forum intends to have presentations from DISA and each of the four
services on NCES, its impact and their plans and timescales for
implementation.
Other agenda items will include Open Source status and plans; Linux COE
status and impact on COE forum plans; and work program progress.
