Singapore is a world leader in international trade and has been progressing rapidly on the development of an electronic commerce infrastructure.   Broadband media are in place and the government is very active in promoting electronic commerce.  A series of legislation is in progress, including the recent Electronic Transactions Act.

Dr Toh See Kiat is the member of parliament for the Aijunied GRC.  He will describe the key features of the Act itself and discuss aspects of contractual liability, government use of electronic records and the planned deployment of public key infrastructure.
