Meeting Report - DIF Members' Meeting

Objective of Meeting

The aims of the DIF members' meeting were:

• to make progress on the product standard for LDAP Certified and LDAP Ready certification,
• to plan for future interoperability testing events, and
• to explore the idea of DSML certification.

Summary

Profiles for certification were discussed. It was agreed to define horizontal profiles of increasing functionality, as opposed to vertical profiles directed towards particular applications. These profiles will be options of the LDAP Certified product standard. A draft definition for the Base profile was agreed.

Plans were laid for a DirConnect event for LDAP servers in January, which could include DSML testing, and for a Plugfest for LDAP Ready certification at the Burlingame meeting.

A new vice chair was appointed: Ed Harrington of Nexor.

Outputs

The principal output of the meeting was a revised certification profile matrix.

Next Steps

The next steps are to:

• Complete the profiling work and produce the product standard.
• Open the LDAP Certified and LDAP Ready programs for certification.
• Hold the DirConnect and the Plugfest.
