The Open Group Members' Conference
September 22-26, 1997 : Boston, MA, USA

Our theme is Electronic Commerce and we can promise you a thought-provoking week. Guest speakers from Bank of America, Barclays Bank and T. Rowe Price will present their practical experiences and current thinking, bringing out the issues that must be taken into account in the implementation of competitive Electronic Commerce applications. Facilitated panel and BoF sessions will further consider this important applications area, extracting some key findings.

As the IT DialTone progresses from concept to reality, applications like
these will help us to drive through the key requirements that will steer The
Open Group's programs. Speaking of Programs, we will also be introducing
in Boston the new areas that are needed for implementation of the IT
DialTone.

For regular attendees there will, as usual, be substantial activity within
the Security, Management, TOGAF, DCE and Desktop Programs.

Meeting Structure

  • Keynote presentation
  • Associated supporting sessions
  • Report-backs from each Program Group
  • Program Group meetings
  • Quarterly meetings of the Open Group Customer and Software Councils

Why You Should Attend

You have the chance to influence Open Group strategy by participating in Members' Meetings and appropriate Program Groups.

In the process you will rub shoulders with customers who are at the leading edge of distributed computing. This is the best way to learn what works and how to deal with the challenges of network-centric computing.

Please Register As Soon As Possible

Registration for the September meeting is now open. Please register as soon as you can. As usual we need to remind you that hotels fill early - this time because of Fall in New England. The "regular attendees" registration form will be quicker in most cases. (The "first time" form is useful if you have forgotten your password.)

Please use the web form if you can - otherwise please request a form by contacting Lynne Canal, based in Reading, on +44 118 950 8311 x2238.
