Subject: The ARM Standard -- What it means to you

The DSM Program group will present a Briefing on the ARM (Application response Measurement) standard. The briefing is aimed at large user organizations interested in using ARM and in ISVs interested in implementing ARM in their products.

This Briefing session is open to all interested attendees at the TOG user meeting.

ARM is a standard for generating information on client performance in client/server environments. In addition to a TOG standard that exists and is still growing, ARM has real support in the industry today and is implemented in a number of products.

This briefing will acquaint you with the ARM standard and the technologies that support. It will give you information that you can make decisions about the use of ARM in your management Enterprise Management Environment. We will present the ARM standard today and the expectations for the future. In addition, we will provide at least one case study of the use of ARM in a user organization and will present an overview of the products and technologies that support the ARM standard today.

We will be presenting the practical side of the ARM standard and aim to give users in particular a set of concrete information that they can use in their organizations today to determine if ARM is useful, and to aid with the development of an ARM based strategy.

There will also be demonstrations of ARM products from Hewlett-Packard and Tivoli Systems.
