Donna S. Van Fleet is responsible for the development of IBMs network computers.This responsibility entails:
- Formulating the strategy and plan
- Working with IBM divisions and other industry partners to establish plans for products that complement the IBM Network Station
- Working with industry system and software providers to establish NC standards.
- Developing and delivering the IBM Network Station offerings.
Mrs. Van Fleets prior assignments included managing IBMs UNIX product (AIX), database products (IMS and DB2) and mainframe operating system (MVS).
Mrs. Van Fleet is a member of the Board of Directors of UniForum; chairperson of the Advisory Board for the School of Natural Sciences at St. Edwards University, Austin, Texas; and a member of the Board of Governors of the IBM Academy of Technology. In 1996, Mrs. Van Fleet was recognized by McGraw-Hill Companies as one of the top 100 women in computing.
She resides in Austin, Texas, with her husband, Jim, and their 16-year-old son, Jonathan.
Mrs. Van Fleet holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
