Mike's career spans 26 years in Electronics and Telecommunications, with the last 13 years in Mobile Communications. He was appointed Contracts Director of Cellnet in 1989, dealing with multi-million dollar infra-structure investments and UK interconnect agreements. In 1993 the focus moved to establishing Cellnet's GSM service. He was elected Chairman of the GSM Association for 1995/96, and served on its Executive Board for 3 years. The customer total using GSM based networks now exceeds 270 million world-wide. Mike's focus today is on Third Generation (UMTS) cellular and steering BT Cellnet's networks strategy from GSM evolution towards UMTS. He also is a member of the UK FEI Board, UK SMAG (Ministerial Advisory Group) and was elected Chairman of the UK Mobile Data Association for 1999/2000.
