Moderator: Mike Lambert, The Open GroupIn a relaxed atmposphere with refreshments available, Mike Lambert, Chief Technical Office of The Open Group will highlight some of the recent developments within The Open Group. This session will: preview the Realtime and Embedded Systems Forum that will be initiated in June 2000 report on improvements to The Open Group's Standards Information Base (the definitive list of standards that The Open Group recommends for use in procurement) outline plans to introduce certification programs for applications which "Work with" systems that conform to Open Group standards The session will conclude with a "State of the Open Group" speech from Allen Brown, President of The Open Group. Modelled on the US "State of the Union", this speech originally delivered to the Open Group Board of Directors sets out clearly the current position of The Open Group and The President's clear vision for the future.
